If you really want to learn to rock, this is a good easy guitar lesson for you. It’s only got one chord, but there is a combination here of hot (but simple) lead playing and grooving rhythmic Strum Patterns. So if you’re willing to put the time into it, you could make yourself the complete party guitarist by working with Peter for a little while. Because there’s only one chord, you get the chance to focus on learning how to play the groove and lead techniques that he shows you here. Lesson Description

This guitar lesson has  7 chapters.  The Performance shows you what we want to have you learn in the lesson. Notice the “hot” lead Peter starts with. Well guess what? It’s easy once you know how to play it. Stay tuned. The Overview tells you what you need to know to speak intelligently about the song at parties, plus the chords you need to know. In the next chapter, the Verse, Peter shows you the Strum Pattern and a left-hand move that turns that Strum Pattern into a piece of boogie-woogie guitar. In the next chapter, Verse Section 2, you put both of these parts together. In the Slow Practice you do it at a reduced pace that gets you internalizing all the info, and there’s a lot of it here. Next comes the Bonus Chapter Intro where Peter shows you the single string lead picking that you need to learn how to play the beginning instrumental riff. This exactly what Jimmy Page did, so feel good about yourself after you master it. Then comes the Bonus Chapter Lead chapter, which is a ten-minute chapter on the very bluesy lead that Page played on the recording.

"Baby, Please Don't Go" is a blues & rock standard that developed from a group of early 20th century blues and work songs, such as "Alabama Bound," "Another Man Done Gone," "Don't Leave Me Here," and "Turn Your Lamp Down Low."

The first recording was by Joe Williams' Washboard Blues Singers in 1935 and again in 1941.

Two versions reached "hit" status: 1)Them, with Van Morrison, released a single in 1964 with "Gloria" on the flip side.  Their recording reached #10 on the UK Singles chart.

Aerosmith released version in 2004, which hit #7 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.  It became a standard song for them.
