This guitar lesson has 5 chapters. The Performance shows you what Jennifer wants to have you learn in the lesson. The Overview tells you what you need to know about the form, style, feel, and chords in the song. In the Verse Jennifer starts by teaching you how to play the opening riff that goes under the harmonica solo at the beginning of the song. Because this is the rhythm that happens throughout much of the song, and because of a tricky “anticipation” in the Strum Pattern, you’ll want to pay close attention to the diagram that Jennifer shows you. Then we move to the Bridge chapter, where you apply the rhythms you’ve just learned to a different chord progression. Next comes the Slow Practice where you get to jam with your teacher over and over on the song nice and slow. The most difficult part of this lesson comes in the Bonus Chapter where Jennifer shows you note-for-not how to play the great guitar solo that comes in the middle of the song.

"I Should Have Known Better," by The Beatles, was written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon/McCartney. It was originally released on the UK version of A Hard Day's Night, their soundtrack for the film of the same name. It is performed in the film in a train compartment scene, which was actually filmed in a van being rocked by production crew members.
The Beatles became aware of the music of Bob Dylan in January of 1964 and were introduced to him in February of that same year during a visit to New York. Dylan became a major influence, especially to John Lennon, as can be seen in his approach to this song.
Lennon's harmonica was used for the intro of the song. He also provided vocal and acoustic rhythm guitar. Paul McCartney played bass guitar; George Harrison, his new Rickenbacker 12-string lead guitar, especially the middle sixteen section; and Ringo Starr,drums.
The first recording session for the song was in February of 1964 at Abbey Road Studios, where Lennon's hysterics over his harmonica playing led to changes to the arrangement.
In the UK, "I Should Have Known Better" was released as a single in 1976 as a B-side to "Yesterday." In the U.S. it was originally released as the B-side to "A Hard Day's Night," and in a number of continental European countries, it was released as a single, reaching #6 in West Germany and #1 in Norway.
