Lesson Description
The Verse of this lesson introduces the Main Strum Pattern, which is a little tricky at first, so Steve demonstrates two simpler patterns that will get you playing the song right away. In the Verse Steve also shows you the “stop” that makes the “la la la” part groove. The next chapter, Bass Runs, introduces several bass runs that work for this song and tons of others. Steve repeats the RS.com mantra about keeping the groove happening while you depart from your strum pattern to play these bass runs. The next chapter is the Chorus Ending, where we demonstrate a heavily syncopated strum variation that looks very complicated at first but that is way easier than it sounds. The next chapter is the Ending, which is a fairly simple riff involving a two-note bass run. Finally we go to the Intro, where Steve has arranged the three Beatles guitars for one guitar. Why did we save the Intro for now? Because it is usually not played in party jams, and it is also quite difficult. Oh, there is also a short Bonus Chapter where mysterious female harmonist enters the vocal picture.

"I've Just Seen a Face," by The Beatles, was written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon/McCartney) and released on their album Help! in Britain and the album Rubber Soul in the U.S. It's almost a true country song with such a fast tempo that it could be bluegrass if played with fiddle and banjo. It was a favorite of McCartneys, one of only five Beatles songs he performed in his solo career.
