This is the first US performance of Yesterday. http://rstrum.com. You can see that Paul uses only his index finger and thumb. This is the same style of guitar playing he used on Blackbird (White Album). The Yesterday lesson I teach here on RhythmStrummer.com uses a slightly easier fingering method that achieves a very similar sound.
